| The CDW (Continuous Diaphragm Walls) system has been developed to enable the simultaneous excavation and concretingof diaphragm walls. Execution of the wall develops as a continuous working cycle, in such a way that production becomes nearly twicethan what is obtainable by traditional means. The method adopted for excavation does not require the use of bentonite mud and therefore provides for a free and clean working area. The speed of execution, the absence of joints and the possibility to use self-hardening cement slurry mixtures makes the CDW system extremely competitive for the execution of hydraulic cut off.A special soil cutting module is driven down into the ground; once design depth is reached, concrete is poured into the hole. The hydrostatic force created by the fresh concrete pushes the module forward. The excavated unpolluted soil is directly loaded onto the trucks by a conveyor belt. |
