Construction works for Foundiougne Bridge in Senegal officially launched by President Macky Sall

President of Senegal Macky Sall has officially launched the construction works for the longest bridge in Senegal, named Pont de Foundiougne.

President Sall, a geological engineer member of multiple national and international associations of geologists, successfully tested himself a Soilmec SM-21 drilling rig, in use on the job site together with an SM-8G and an SM-5G for soil investigations and geognostic use.

The Government of Senegal, in the framework of the execution of its policy on transport, has decided to carry out projects of road construction to improve transports inside the country and new bridges to ensure the safe crossing of watercourses.

Pont de Foundiougne construction project will last 3 years and will connect, with an access road and bridge for a total length of 2825 mt, the cities of Ndakhonga and Foundiougne (in Fatick region), crossing Saloum river.
