Trench cutters are cable-suspended to the supporting crane's boom through an appropriate swivel located at the top of the hydromill frame.
To control and vary the net effective weight on the bottom of the excavation and so to control the specific pressure on the cutter bits, a high sensitivity hydraulic regulation of the main winch has been adopted.

The three hydraulic mmotors of the submerged elements (the 2 cutter drums and the mud pump) can be fed by an external hydraulic power pack mounted on the carrier, or directly by the hdraulic supporting crane.
