Soilmec Newsletter 3/2016
Dear ##NOME## here's what's new at Soilmec!

On show at Bauma 2016 the Soilmec SR-75 rig fundamental for "Trienna" project in Vienna

The Soilmec SR-75 rig is a top model of the new blue ADVANCED product line and it will be exhibited at the Bauma 2016 trade fair. The SR-75 has been fundamental to the “Trienna” project, which involves the construction of foundation piles for a future residential and commercial area in the middle of Vienna's municipal districts.
The job site is nestled in the Landstraße municipal District, a heavily populated urban area with many residential houses in the southeastern city center of Vienna. Located at the intersection of Rennweg-Landstraßer Hauptstraße, the construction site is limited by the Otto Preminger-Starße and Fred-Zinnemann-Platz – close to the Belvedere complex, a popular tourist destination with a world-famous 18th-century castle, gallery, and gardens. The project began in late September 2015 and is expected to be completed by the end of 2017. It will involve the construction of underground foundation piles, slurry walls, and anchors.

Soilmec Spin-Off system

Soilmec over the years has invented, developed, and improved a special spoil discharge system: the Spin-Off system. This system uses centrifugal force to cleanly detach the soil from the auger.
Thanks to the use of a special motor reducer mounted on the lower part of the rotary head, the kelly bar is counterclockwise rotated and the debris are completely removed by centrifugal force generated by rapid auger rotation. Other methods, based on turning the kelly bar left and right until the soil is removed, are less effective — especially in the presence of cohesive soils such as clays and silts. Under these conditions, the Soilmec Spin-Off system ensures the best tool cleanliness and saves at least 5 seconds during every cycle. Soilmec Spin-Off system will be on show at Bauma 2016 trade fair on the SR series drilling rig.
