CECE 2018

Soilmec at the CECE 2018 Congress in Rome

Soilmec took part in the CECE 2018 (Committee for European Construction Equipment) Congress. This year, the biennial Congress was organized by UNACEA (the trade association of construction machinery companies) and took place in Rome from 17th to 19th October.

About 200 delegates attended the CECE Congress, including business owners, senior managers, technical experts, policy makers, researchers and organizers of the main trade fair events. Common goal: facing the challenges of the digital transformation. "Building customer loyalty through a common vision" was the title of the event.

During the plenary session of "Customer Orientation & Labour Psychology", Soilmec took part in the panel "The Human-Machine Interface", sharing the experience gained on the DMS (Drilling Mate System) since 2005.

DMS is an electronic instrumentation to survey and record the rig and the production on site. A multi-language touch display showing in real time all information relating to the operations and performances. The production data can be downloaded on a USB flash card. All data can be also transmitted via e-mail to customer managers. A dedicated software allows the customer to elaborate the production data on his laptop. Finally, our customer with a dedicated server and the DMS manager package, can control in real time all his fleet, as well as monitor his rigs functioning and download all rig performances and production data.

During the Economic Forum, focused on two themes, namely "Made in China 2025" and "The Belt Road Initiative", Soilmec talked about its presence in China, since 1982, and the strategy adopted in recent years in order to remain a player excellence in the country, through the promotion of innovative technologies and high-end equipment.
