KELTBRAY INVESTS IN 1ST NEW PILING RIGS IN EUROPE

Keltbray Piling, which is part of Keltbray Group, has increased its fleet and capacity by investing a combined total of £2.5 million in three new piling rigs. These include two Soilmec SR-75 and one Soilmec SR-30.

The two SR-75 rigs are the first of its kind in Europe and part of a new generation of rigs designed by Soilmec for large diameter piling, where the structural components have been redesigned to reduce weight.

These rigs are fitted with the latest Tier IIIB/IVi engine, which exceeds stringent new emission standards and reduces CO2 by around 17%, while still delivering more power, efficiency and flexibility.

To enhance safety, Keltbray is also currently trialling a wide-angle camera system, referred to as Vision Technique Overview, which provides 360 degrees in-cab vision for the rig operators.

Keltbray Piling was established in 2009 and has seen progressive growth over the past five years. The company was recently shortlisted for the Ground Engineering Contractor of the Year Award 2014 on the back of its expansion, and is securing and successfully delivering increasingly complex and major contracts. These include the development of Osterley Campus for BskyB and a contract at The Glebe, which is being developed by Brookfield Multiplex and set to become London's most exclusive residential development in the heart of Chelsea.

Keltbray Group is the UK’s leading specialist engineering, construction, decommissioning and environmental services business providing fully integrated services to meet the needs of diverse and complex projects. High profile projects include Europe’s tallest building - The Shard, London’s Thames Link and deplanting at Bradwell Power station.
